Hushed encrypts your calls, but your account data sits on their servers in readable form. Message and voicemail content protected by our current method is sealed on Canadian servers to the account communication key; a supported client opens it after sign-in and unlock. A small set retained from the private beta remains readable under our older server-side encryption until a separate re-sealing process.
Hushed and WIGGWIGG are both Canadian. The difference: WIGGWIGG is built bilingually from the ground up in Quebec, subject to PIPEDA, with French as a first-class language, not an afterthought.
