Why I Built WIGGWIGG

I've spent years as a data engineer watching how companies handle user information. It made me develop strong privacy practices: separate identities, multiple phone numbers, careful compartmentalization. But managing it all manually is exhausting.

After trying various solutions (extra SIM cards, phone-number apps, and forwarding services), I realized what we really need is complete identity infrastructure. Not just a phone number, but the whole package: contact info, passwords, service tracking, all organized by context.

WIGGWIGG is that solution. Built privacy-first with zero-knowledge encryption, designed for Canadians (both English and French), and affordable for everyone. No venture capital pushing for growth-at-all-costs. Just honest software solving a real problem.

Questions About WIGGWIGG

Who is behind WIGGWIGG?
WIGGWIGG is built by one person, based in Quebec, Canada. It's bootstrapped (no venture capital), which means it answers to users, not investors. The founder, who goes by CAB, has a background in data engineering and a passion for privacy.

What happens to my number and my data if WIGGWIGG shuts down?
We'd rather answer this question before you ask it. In Canada your number belongs to you: CRTC rules give you the right to move it to another provider, and the new provider handles the transfer. For now, that transfer goes through our support: write to us and we'll give you the account details to hand to your new provider. Your data can be exported any time from Settings → Privacy & Data (JSON or HTML). If WIGGWIGG ever had to wind down, you would get advance notice and a clear transition period to move your number and export your data. Your safety net is regulation and architecture, not a promise.

Why should I trust WIGGWIGG with my data?
Your passwords and identity details are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers, and we don't hold the keys needed to read them. Your phone numbers, calls, texts and billing work differently: they go through the phone network or our payment processor, so part of that information stays readable to us and follows different security requirements.

Is WIGGWIGG really a Canadian company?
Yes, and you can check it yourself rather than take our word for it. WIGGWIGG INC. is listed in the CRTC public directory as a telecommunications service reseller and separately holds a Basic International Telecommunications Services (BITS) licence. The directory has no direct link to a single result, so type 'wiggwigg' into the Company Name filter to find both records. The company is incorporated in Canada, based in Quebec, and subject to Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA). We offer full French and English support.
