WIGGWIGG is now available on the App Store in Canada for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android.
On Android, you also have a third route: a version without Google services, downloaded straight from WIGGWIGG.
These are three ways to install the same WIGGWIGG service with the same account. The choice mainly changes who installs updates and how your phone wakes the app to tell you about a call or text.
The simple choice
If you simply want to install the app and receive updates like you do for your other apps, choose your phone’s store:
- on iPhone or iPad, get the app from the App Store;
- on an ordinary Android phone, get the app from Google Play;
- on an Android phone without Google services, or if you prefer to download directly from WIGGWIGG, choose the Android version without Google.
You can see all three routes on our mobile apps page.
On iPhone and iPad: the App Store
Apple handles installation and updates. The signals that wake the app for notifications also travel through Apple.
This is the route to use on iPhone and iPad. TestFlight remains for our internal testing and is not another public route to request.
On Android: Google Play
Google Play handles installation and updates. The signals that wake the app for notifications use Google services, with the notification content encrypted.
For most Android phones, this is the simplest choice.
On Android: the version without Google
This version does not require Google services. The file comes straight from WIGGWIGG, the app keeps its own connection to our server for notifications, and it checks WIGGWIGG for updates.
That has two visible effects: a permanent notification stays in the notification shade, and the app may use a little more battery than the Google Play version.
Starting with 0.13.0, the version without Google is a separate app. It can sit beside the Google Play app instead of replacing it.
We offer a stable build when it is ready. A preview build may also be available when it is newer: it may contain bugs, and how it looks or what it does may change during Early Access.
What this arrival means
Being in both stores makes WIGGWIGG easier to install and keep up to date. It does not mean every app receives every change at the same time.
The web app also remains available in your browser. You can choose the route that fits your device today, then keep using the web whenever it is more convenient.
Method note
This guide was prepared by WIGGWIGG with the help of generative AI for the first draft and the wording. WIGGWIGG checked the product statements on October 21, 2026, then approved the published version.
